drumSTRONG™ is a unique multicultural, musical charity event produced annually by DrumsForCures, Inc. a 501 (c)(3) non-profit charity organization, raising awareness and funds for cancer education, support and research. We assemble the local resources available to address cancer concerns; the medical, integrative and holistic health entities and specific cancer societies, showcasing their missions and methods.
It's a gathering to rhythm.
We invite local and celebrity artists to play with all assembled; drumming non-stop for 24+ hours. The Guinness World Records organization has been informed that we will set the record for the planet's longest continuous rhythm Drum•A•Thon.
The music attracts many people to an event where questions about health (particularly cancer) can be addressed. Cancer education and familiarizing oneself to the available tools and resources to deal with the disease simply puts the odds in ones favor; knowing one's adversary is the classic model for survival. Sadly enough, few people are not "touched" by cancer in some fashion...
DrumsForCures encourages cancer awareness at home, in schools and throughout communities. We promote cancer support, education and research. All funds raised are donated to local and national cancer initiatives.
Educating people to the causes, early detection and affects of cancer is the primary mission of DrumsForCures. Drumming is the modus operandi. ¡BEATing cancer!
We are also organizing a national network of percussionists to bring rhythm into children's hospitals and clinics for the unifying, healing and entertainment values. We know that it works on many levels.
