Dr. Sherrill Sellman uncovers the myths of soy. She explains that the food is not as nutritional as many consumers believe. In fact, it is probably best to avoid the use of processed soy products. Feeding a baby with an infant soy formula gives them an increased amount of the hormone estrogen, which can lead to health problems - in other words, soy is an estrogenic substance. Soy also contributes to hypothyroidism, blocks proteins, vitamins and minerals from being absorbed in the body, and more. Unless you're eating fermented soy - in the form of tempeh, miso and nato, soy products should be avoided. Also, make sure that these products are labeled organic because if not, they are most likely GMO, a genetically modified food.
