Our Mission

The mission of TheHolisticOption.com is to increase awareness among consumers about health and wellness from a holistic perspective, which addresses the 'whole person' – body, mind, and spirit – and the root cause(s) or factors of a health condition, as opposed to merely treating symptoms of a health condition.

Covering more than fifty complementary, alternative and integrative modalities, we work to help individuals and their families make informed decisions, and live healthier lives, naturally. We provide reliable information, a directory of licensed practitioners and schools across the United States, engaging new media, natural remedies, and a forum for peer discussion – all at no cost – to ensure that every person interested in this information, has immediate and total access to it.

In collaboration with professional associations, licensed practitioners and experts in the field of holistic medicine, we work to provide the latest, most comprehensive content available. We also encourage patients to speak with their conventional physicians – and physicians to ask their patients – about their use of complementary and alternative medicine (or 'CAM'), so that we may begin to create a shift in the way healthcare is both viewed and managed in the U.S. We believe that the patient-practitioner relationship is a partnership, and that a patient's active role in his/her own healing and health is essential to achieving optimal well-being.

In addition, we are one of many advocates for environment consciousness, such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and recyclable products. Because we play such a vital role in the condition of the environment, it, in turn, impacts our health as individuals and as a global population. As such, we provide information to educate the public about the small changes they can make to help our planet achieve optimal health as well.

Our expansive health community is fluid and evolutionary, so we encourage visitors to visit the site often and subscribe to our eNewsletter, podcast and blogs, as we'll be adding information continuously.
